TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- The Tallahassee Police Department has arrested three men in connection to a home burglary.

TPD says they responded to a report of an in-progress burglary in the 2300 block of Talley Lane on Tuesday afternoon. Officials say the resident was home at the time and called 911 while retreating to hide in a back bedroom after hearing his back glass shatter.

Authorities say as officers began to arrive on the scene, they witnessed a suspect in a car begin to try to leave the scene, but officials were able to detain the driver, 18-year-old Malik Hawkins.

According to TPD, the other two suspects began to run from the house and police set up a perimeter with a K-9 unit. Officers then located the second suspect, 18-year-old Destin Vickers, and detained him.

TPD says they began looking for the third suspect and found a single slide on the ground by the back fence of the victim's residence, and continued to search until coming to a makeshift shelter in the woods, where 20-year-old Dequan Harris was arrested.

All three suspects were arrested and charged with burglary of an occupied dwelling. Harris is also facing an additional charge for violation of probation.
