TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- The Leon County Sheriff's Office says two people have been arrested following a drug bust near Bond Elementary School.

At 9:30 a.m. Thursday, LCSO's Vice Unit served a search warrant at a residence at 2122 Holton Street.

During the search, deputies seized approximately 87.5 grams of crack cocaine, 100.5 grams powder cocaine, 189 grams cannabis, more than $5,000 cash, a Walther .380 semi-automatic handgun, and various drug paraphernalia.

Deputies say the home is located only 500 feet from Bond Elementary School and directly across the street from a local church.

Following the investigation, deputies arrested two people inside the residence, 50-year-old Willie Hart and 37-year-old Angela Benton.

Hart and Benton are each charged with trafficking cocaine, possession of cocaine and cannabis with intent to sell within 1000 feet of a church, possession of drug paraphernalia, and maintaining a drug house. Hart is also charged with tampering with evidence.

Leon County Sheriff Walt McNeil said in a news release on Thursday, "I’d like to thank the members of our Vice Unit for their great work on this case. I am appalled but not surprised that drug dealers would be so brazen, as to traffic drugs near the most fragile members of our community. It’s because of actions like these that the Leon County Sheriff’s Office will be relentless in our efforts to stop this type of activity in our community."

Both suspects are in custody at the Leon County Detention Facility.
