Two seriously injured in wrong-way crash in Leon County

LEON COUNTY, Fla. (WCTV) -- Two people are in serious condition after a Friday night crash in Leon County.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, it happened around 11:18 p.m. on US-27, just south of the Gadsden County line.

Troopers say 36-year-old Edwin Sanchez Vasquez was driving in the wrong direction. 46-year-old Everline Clemons of Bainbridge, Georgia switched lanes as she tried to avoid a head-on collision with Vasquez.

The front of both vehicles crashed into each other.

Both drivers were taken to Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare with serious injuries.

Charges are pending.
