MARION COUNTY, Fla. (WCTV) -- A woman has been arrested following an investigation into a fatal crash in Marion County in January 2017.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, 37-year-old Justyn Hudgins has been arrested and charged with leaving the scene involving death and evidence tampering.
FHP says on January 17, 2017, Hudgins struck a pedestrian, 43-year-old Alexis Monroe, while traveling south on US 301. Troopers say after Hudgins hit Monroe, she fled the scene.
According to Troopers, two more vehicles hit Monroe as they were traveling south on US 301, and stopped and got out of their vehicles at the scene.
FHP says Monroe was pronounced dead at the scene by Marion County Fire Rescue.
FHP says Hudgins was arrested on March 2 on a warrant by the Sumter County Sheriff's Office.
