TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- "Don't Text and Drive", "Buckle Up" and "Lock it or lose it".

Those are some of the messages you may find on rocks around the capital city.

The Tallahassee Police Department is now in on the popular "Tallahassee Rocks" movement.

Different safety and crime-prevention messages are painted on blue rocks. Officers place them in random spots for community members to find them.

Rochelle Denmark with the Tallahassee Police Department said, "All it takes sometimes is one message, one sentence and it could change the course of someone's life. Even if it's something so simple as 'shut your door.'"

Members of TPD's youth programs helped officers paint and come up with some of the messages.

You're most likely to find the hidden treasures at city parks.
