Pound It Grilled Cheese


Love grilled cheese? Well this recipe will certainly take your grilled cheese level up a notch.
What you'll need:
· Loaf Pound Cake (see recipe below) - Sliced approximately ¾ to 1" Thick
· 2 tablespoons of softened butter
· Cheese of choice (sliced, grated or try a combination of both for the cheesiest experience)
· Skillet pan and spatula
(You can also drizzle a little raspberry jam on the "sandwiches" and it's delicious!)

· Vanilla Pound Cake
4 eggs
2 cups Sugar
3 cups flour
1 tablespoon baking power
¼ teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
1 cup butter
2 tablespoons vanilla extract


(Making Grilled Cheese)
· Step 1 - Turn skillet on to medium heat - while stove is heating, lightly coat each side of your pound cake with softened butter
· Step 2 - in skillet grill each side of the pound cake slices until light brown
· Step 3 - Add cheese to one slice and place another slice on top - continue to flip sandwich until golden
· Step 4 - Remove from pan and serve hot - garnish with a raspberry sauce

How to make Pound Cake
· Step 1 - Preheat Oven to 350 degrees and grease (2 - 3) 8" round pans
· Step 2 - CAKE… In a mixing bowl combine sugar, butter and vanilla and flavoring. Add eggs one at a time - In a separate bowl combine flour, baking powder and salt - fold in with batter. Add milk. Place in oven and bake for 25 minutes or until toothpick test comes out clean.
