GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCTV) -- Florida State defeated the Florida Gators, 83-66, in Gainesville on Monday night.
The Seminoles came out fast and furious, jumping out to a 14-7 lead before the Gators begin to storm back, eventually taking a lead at 15-14, and from there, the game went back and forth between lead exchanges and runs.
In the first half, the Noles had multiple stretches of two-plus minute scoreless droughts as well as two runs of 7-0 and 8-0 to hold the Gators at bay, in taking a 42-35 halftime lead.
FSU never trailed in the second half, and held the Gators scoreless from the floor in the final 3:45 of the half, except for a basket made by the Gators in the final seconds.
The Noles were paced by 25 points from Terance Mann, who also had eight rebounds on the evening. Phil Cofer logged a double-double with 10 points and 12 boards, while CJ Walker added 17 on the score sheet.
