TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- March Madness is making its way to Tallahassee. The Florida State Lady Noles will play in the NCAA Tournament at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center on Friday and preparations are already underway.

The excitement in the air in Tallahassee is incredible. Although, if you walk around the FSU campus or College Town right now, it's like a deserted island. That's because all of the students here are on spring break.

But local business owners say between the tournament, St. Patrick's Day, and the end of spring break... they look forward to seeing a huge boost.

In fact, one business we spoke to said events of this size can spark a jump of anywhere from 40-60 percent.

Looking forward to the NCAA Tournament, Frankie Hollis says, "Most of the students will be coming back from their spring break, so we expect a high volume... people are ready to get back and support the team it definitely brings a different energy."

The most exciting part is that the Lady Noles haven't played at home in three weeks.

So while business owners are looking forward to the increased foot traffic, FSU students, fans and alumni are screaming "Go Noles!"

The Lady Noles take on Western Illinois on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
