The FAMU Men’s Basketball team fell behind early and never recovered in dropping a 77-60 road decision to first place Morgan State in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference play at the Hill Fieldhouse Monday night.
The Bears (10-11, 7-1 MEAC) shot 53 percent from the floor in the opening stanza, cashing in six three-pointers to runaway to a 41-24 halftime cushion, which stood up as the two teams played to a 36-36 stalemate in the second half.
FAMU (5-16, 3-5 MEAC) did not have a player score in double figures Monday, with sophomore Justin Ravenel leading the way with nine points, followed by eight-point performances from juniors Derrick Dandridge and Craig Bowman.
Morgan’s Tiwian Kendley led all scorers with 21 points, with Antonio Gillespie adding 17 points, and Kyle Thomas finishing with 12.
FAMU finished the night shooting 46.7 percent from the floor, and went three of 10 from distance Monday night.
