BLACKSBURG, Va. (WCTV) -- Bad news for Virginia Tech equals good news for Florida State as the Hokies have announced a dismissal from their defensive corps.
VT announced Monday starting defensive back Mook Reynolds has been dismissed from the team.
Last season, Reynolds started all 11 games for the Hokies, racking up 70 tackles and 7.5 tackles for a loss.
The offseason hasn't been kind to Virginia Tech, who has to replace seven straters from last year's defense heading into 2018. In 2017, the Hokies touted the second-best scoring defense in the conference, alloiwng just 14.8 pionts per game, as well as boasting the second-best overall yards allowed (319.3) and rushing yards allowed (119.5).
Florida State opens their 2018 season, the first under new head coach Willie Taggart, against VT on Monday, September 3 at 8 p.m.
