GREENSBORO, NC. (April 9) – Sophomore Tahlia Snider was the star of the day for the FAMU Women’s Softball team in Sunday’s 2-0 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference victory over North Carolina A&T, both pitching and hitting.
The Tallahassee Lincoln High graduate, who has come of age lately, improved to 6-2 in the pitching circle, twirling six full innings of shutout ball, scattering four hits with one strikeout and no walks Sunday, extending her current streak of scoreless innings to 38.
Senior Kenya Pereira came on in the bottom of the seventh to pitch a scoreless inning of relief to close out the Aggies (10-24, 3-6 MEAC), scattering two hits, to pick up her third save of the season.
Snider also led FAMU with two hits, including the game-winning RBI single in the top of the seventh, scoring Whitney Farris, who reached safely on a leadoff single.
FAMU (14-24-1, 9-0 in MEAC) scored the game’s other run, when Jamesia Stoudemire, who reached on a walk, eventually scoring from third on a wild pitch.
