The winner is the Cake Shop in Tallahassee.
You walk through the front door of the Cake Shop and the smell makes your mouth water.
Customer, Kendra Dawson said, "First when you walk in the door the smell just draws you in and you get it and it's great."
It's the smell of victory, the Cake Shop tops the cake when it comes to the best dessert of the Big Bend.
Fae Wilkes visits The Cake Shop once a week and said, "I am not the slightest bit surprised, it's a fine place we love all the desserts, I am very fond of the chocolate cup cake and vanilla butter cream."
When you ask customers what their favorite treat is, they say it's hard to name just one.
"Carrot cake, red velvet, strawberry short cake", said Dawson.
Wendy Hagan voted on wctv.tv for The Cake Shop and said, "My husband loves carrot cake, I love red velvet, really all of them it's so bad."
So what's the secret ingredient?
"The love she puts in them, they are all home made and just wonderful, you can taste the love in them", said Hagan.
The Cake Shop has been craving people's sweet tooth for almost 45 years. Owner Linda Richards says this award is the ultimate treat.
Owner, Linda Richards said, "I think it's incredibly kind of everyone to think that much of us, that says a lot and I really cherish that and it's a very nice opportunity to think they believe I am the best."
Not only does the Cake Shop serve beautiful cakes, you can snack on brownies, cupcakes, cookies, you name it the Cake Shop is sure to fix that sugar craving.
The best part, they are baked fresh everyday!
If you want to try out the Cake Shop it's located at 200 John Knox Road, near Tallahassee Mall. They are open Monday-Friday 9-5:30 p.m. and Saturday 9-12 p.m.
