AFTER SHOTS FIRED DURING FOOT PURSUIT

--GCSO Press Release --

The Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office responded to 171 High Street, just outside of the city limits of Quincy, in reference to an attempted armed home invasion. A female 911 caller advised that several male subjects were attempting to forcefully enter her home while she was still inside. One of the male subjects attempted to enter the residence through a window when the victim pulled the mask from his face. The victim recognized the suspect as 20 year old Peter Joe Knight, Jr. of Quincy, Florida.

After several failed attempts to enter the residence the suspects fled in a vehicle, in which the victim was able to get a description and a partial license plate number. The vehicle was later spotted in area of CR 161 and Highway 12 in the St. Hebron Community. Deputies converged on the area and a foot pursuit of the suspects began with the suspects firing several shots. The foot pursuit continued on for several hours in northeast Quincy area with the Florida Highway Patrol and Florida Wildlife Commission Officers assisting. 21 year old Ryan Wade Massey of Jackson County was the first to be arrested in a wooded area near Hickory Hill Lane. Peter Joe Knight, Jr. was arrested moments later at the corner of St. Hebron Road and Pine Trail Lane. The K-9 track was called off after attempts to locate the third suspect were unsuccessful.

Shortly after the track ended, members of the community began reaching out to the Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office with a location on the third suspect. GCSO investigators, K-9, patrol deputies, and Florida Fish and Wildlife Officers responded a residence off of Hickory Hill Lane surrounding the residence. When deputies attempted to make contact at the residence no one responded. One of GCSO investigators heard noises from inside of the residence and K-9 was ordered to be deployed into the residence after a positive confirmation that inside of the residence was 18 year old

Demontarivous A. Robinson, who is also a suspect in several home burglaries and robberies in the northeast Quincy area. Robinson surrendered to deputies as K-9 officer Dep. W. Buckhalt was about to deploy K-9 Dep. Kris into the residence. Robinson was arrested and transported to the Gadsden County Jail without incident.
