*Update* Madison County, FL -- January 3, 2012 --

Dollar General - Busy Bee - Love's Truck Stop - Red Onion Grill

Just a few places in Madison County where scammers have struck.

Some victims said the suspects come off as nice people, until they are ready to deceive you.

"They'll buy a small amount of merchandise and they'll try to get the clerk confused as far as how much change they should give back, so they end up usually walking out with more money than what they came in with," said Gary Calhoun, Chief of Police for the Madison County Police Department.

Calhoun believes these scammers aren't from the Madison area and that they have practiced their scheme to the tee.

"For the store clerks we've tried to educate them," he said.

"Let them know that if you have someone that comes in and starts trying to confuse you, you take control of the situation."

Madison County, FL -- January 2, 012 --

Three scammers have been targeting local businesses in Madison County for over a month now.

Multiple victims said the suspects come off as nice people, but they are really just the opposite.

Madison County deputies said the two men first tried to pull a fast one on the Busy Bee convenience store and gas station off of Base Street.

"He was very persistent and tried quite a few times to get me to give him back more change than what I owed him."

Davis says they walked in, spoke to her as regular customers and tried to buy $10 worth of items with a $50 bill. Then she says they argued that they wanted their $50 bill back and extra change to go with it.

"He'll talk to you the entire time, trying to confuse you. Trying to get you to slip up and give him back more than what you owe him," Davis said.

The sheriff's office says they added a third suspect to their scheme --- a woman."

Sometime after that --- they targeted a Love's truck stop.

Across the street is the Red Onion Grill, where they got away with close to $200.

"They asked me for change and I gave them their change and all I can remember is just being really confused and thinking well what's going on here? Why do they keep asking me for change?"
said Leah Buchanon, waitress at the Red Onion Grill.

Deputies say these three people still have not been caught.

Yes, but we enable them by promising than a life time of free financial support if they will only do one thing...conceive children out of wedlock that they can't afford. This is our doing. We need to stop enabling this madness by ending the funding for those breeding programs.

This is just another reason why we need to stop paying unmarried women to breed out of wedlock children. I guarantee you all three of these crooks were conceive so somebody could get a check from those government handout programs and now look at how they have turned out. They are growing up with no parenting and then turning around robbing and killing us. End welfare and a lot of this drama goes away. A lot People in those programs are in there having unwanted out wedlock children just to fraud the system and we the society are paying the consequence for paying those people to conceive children they do not want. It madness and it so easy to fix. Stop finding it.
