When it comes to coaching college football, Urban Meyer wrote the book on it. Meyer has proved to be a winner where ever he went. After the Spurrier era ended at Florida, the Gators were without an identify, until Urban took over. The Gators quickly rose back to a powerhouse two win two national titles and had an 84% winning percentage. In a day an age where the weight of the world lies in every game, Meyer resigned his position with the university for health reasons following the Gators' bowl game against Cincinnati.
Florida Head Football Coach Urban Meyer says,
"I want what's best for Florida, I want what's best for my family and coach this game, get some stuff figured out and keep this program, keep this freight train headed in the right direction.
After a nights sleep, Meyer changed his mind from resigning, to taking an indefinite leave of absence, and expecting to be back on the Gators' sideline for the 2010 season.
Florida Athletic Director Jeremy Foley adds,
"A lot has happened in he last twenty four hours. We've had a number of conversations with Urban in the past week. I know where his head is at."
Florida Senior Quarterback Tim Tebow adds,
"The last twenty four hours have definitely been a whirlwind. Dealing with everything and just knowing that Coach Meyer was going through hard times with his health, just trying to deal with that was obviously hard on me and a lot of the players."
Even if Meyer decides not to return to coaching, he has accomplished more in five years than some coach achieve in thirty years.
