In college basketball, in order to be successful teams prepare for their opponents for hours and hours every day. The Florida State women's basketball team trys to gain an advantage on the team who they're playing through their scout team, which is made up entirely of guys.
FSU Women's Head Basketball Coach Sue Semrau says,
"Ever since I've gotten to Florida State we've had some great students that have come and really helped us to be a better basketball team. The hguys they're biggwer, they're quicker, they're stronger, they're faster. For us to go and try to match that on a daily basis gives us a real sense of, wow we matched this on a daily basis then we can go out against the competition."
All undergraduate students, the size that they bring adds a whole new dimension of practice for Florida State.
FSU Scout Team member Adam Conrad adds,
"Our big guys are way bigger than anyone they're going to go up against and it's definitely good for them. They're not going to face anyone as tough as our big guys."
FSU Senior Forward/Center Jacinta Monroe adds,
"They prepare us really well for the games that we play because they're nobody in the confernce or in the country that are as tall and that can slam and can do the things that they can do."
As Florida State continues to battle through the grueling demands of the ACC schedule, they'll take any advantage to gain an edge on their competition.
