Let's focus on a local basketball team with big plans... The TCC Eagles spent this weekend traveling to the Midwest. They plan on dribbling back with a National Title... Their story is this week's Every Team has a Story.

Tallahassee community college has gone from flying under the radar to making a national jet stream... The tcc men's basketball team didn't even win the regular season panhandle conference crown, but the postseason is where the eagles spread their winning wings.

"We've been able to impose our will on teams latesly and do what we need to do in order to win ballgames," said TCC Head Basketball Coach Eddie Barnes.

"Nobody expected us to win but we came and did our part and won," said TCC Freshman Forward Leek Leek.

Coach Eddie Barnes and the Eagles won both the State and Region Tournament Championship. That gave them the perfect runway to fly to the NJCAA National Tournament out in Hutchinson, Kansas.

"We started off the year playing 10 of 12 games on the road so i think that gives us an idea of how it'll be up there," said TCC Sophomore Guard Rashard McGill.

At (25-8) Overall, tcc has 6 players who average at least 8 points per game. With their national tournament opener set for this Wednesday at high noon against Cape Fear out of North Carolina, the Eagles don't seem afraid of flying even higher.

"The first game is most important then we'll get the feel for how we play in front of the big crowd," Leek added.
