A local woman just might be America's Queen of Clean.
Thais Wilson is one of four finalists for Pine-Sol's "Deep Clean Diva" contest.

Wilson was one of 16 semi-finalists chosen out of nearly a thousand essay entries nationwide. Facebook voters then chose Wilson as one of the top four contestants to fly out to San Fransisco and compete for the title.

All four contestants had to clean a stove, a hardwood floor, a bathroom vanity and a trashcan.

"You always want to be clean, you don't want people to think that you're dirty or that they can't stand next to your or think they can't come to your house or eat your food. So you want to be clean, it's a reflection of who you are," says Wilson.

The contest winner gets five thousand dollars and will travel across the country doing promotions for Pine-Sol. The winner will be announced on TV One. Thais is hosting a viewing party from 3:00 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Moon nightclub in Tallahassee. Everyone is invited and there will be Pinesol cleaning contests and giveaways.

If Wilson looks familiar, Eyewitness News featured her daughter, DJ Laila Jade in a story last month. 10 year old Laila is the youngest professional DJ in the state of Florida.

Have a Safe Halloween Night

Before your ghosts and goblins trick or treat this year, parents should keep in mind some safety tips.
  • Carry a Flashlight ~ A glow bracelet, necklace, or flashing attire also work well for visibility.
  • Plan Route in Advance ~ Trick or treat in familiar neighborhoods or areas.
  • Only Visit Lit Houses ~ Residents who do not wish to be bothered by trick or treaters often leave off their lights.
  • Accompany Your Children ~ If they are older and trick or treat without an adult, set firm rules and have them carry a cell phone.
  • Think Practical for Costumes ~ Be sure a child's mask allows full visibility and breathing.
  • Inspect All Candy ~ Never allow children to eat candy before it is inspected and throw away anything that is opened.
