Tallahassee, FL -- February 21, 2012 --
A group of teenagers got the opportunity to tell legislators face to face "thanks."
Teens who are in AMIKids Program came from across Florida to thank legislators for allowing the program.
They held a BBQ luncheon at Kleman Plaza in Tallahassee Tuesday.
AMIKids is a not-for-profit program that turns troubled youth into resposible adults.
Program spokesperson Sherri Ulleg says, "A lot of these kids never knew that they could dream before they came to us. So, they didn't know that college was a possibility for them, or that they could graduate high school even. So, it's good to give them these possibilities and let them see what they can actually achieve."
The program is for ages 14 to 18.
Ulleg says they work with 7,500 teens every year and the program has a 75 percent success rate.
