Gas prices have never been high this time of year. Prices are already up 25 cents since January 1 and experts say they could go higher.
Currently in Valdosta gas costs a little over $3.50 per gallon. That's up from last year's price of less than $3.20 per gallon.
One customer, Susan Williams, said "it's affecting my travel, seeing my children. I'm having to shorten my trips. I can't see them as often. You can't go on vacation, it's affecting everything."
Another customer, Valarie Harris, said "I got to save more now to keep the gas in my car so I can drive back and forth to work in order to make a living for everything else."
Americans spent 8.4 percent of their household income on gasoline last year.

gas is 3.64 a gallon. wth??? i think we need a new president in office to bring things back down. and to bring our troops home. all we are doing is buying obama everything he ever wanted. i think he should have to sell it back and put that money back into the system. so us as tax payers can have something to live on. uf gas keeps going up there is gonna be alot of people with out jobs. and be homeless.
So, Mike, do you work for Newsweek or the Tallahassee Democrat, or you a college prof?
I wonder how the liberal, radical left environmentalists feel when they go to the gas station, fill up their car, and then not have enough to buy a Newsweek with Barry Obama's picture on the front......??????????
