Valdosta Police are seeking help from the public for any information about a bank robbery that happened Friday afternoon in Valdosta.

[UPDATE] -- Valdosta, Ga. -- February 21, 2012 --

Police are seeking help from the public in trying to apprehend a wanted bank robber. Police are following up on numerous leads but are still asking that anyone with information call 911. You can also call the anonymous crime tip line by dialing 229-293-3091.

Captain Bobbi McGraw, of the Valdosta Police Department, spoke about the last known moves of the bank robber saying "there's a possibility he could have gotten into a vehicle. There's a possibility that there could be another person, an accomplice that maybe was waiting for him."

Valdosta, GA -- February 17, 2012 --

Valdosta Police are investigating a bank robbery that happened Friday afternoon in Valdosta.

Authorities say the bank robbery occurred at approximately 4:18pm at the Bank of America on Gornto Road and Baytree Road in Valdosta.

A white male, approximately 35 to 45 years of age, approx. 6’0 in height, 175 lbs, slender build, receding hairline, dark hair, wearing a red zip up type jacket entered the bank and demanded money from a teller. At the time of the robbery, numerous customers and employees were inside the bank.

The offender did not display a weapon but handed the teller a note containing demands and threats. The offender left the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. No one in the bank was injured and no weapon was displayed by the offender.

The offender ran in an easterly direction towards the Valdosta Stadium Cinemas and was last seen in the area of the movie theater. It is unknown at this time if the offender had a vehicle or remained on foot.

The suspect is considered armed and dangerous and is not to be approached. If you see him call 911 immediately.
