Residents at The Shelter on Tennessee St. in Tallahassee helped kick off the third annual We The People Christmas Card Fundraiser.

We The People is a non-profit group that focuses on humanitarian work all over the country. In Tallahassee they do it by spreading Christmas cheer.

Participants who use the shelter are asked to draw a Christmas picture. That picture is then printed on a card, and sold in packages of ten.

Richard Olive with We The People, says, "I think the most exciting thing is to see the participants who actually enjoy the shelter are the ones actually raising the funds."

The past two Christmas card fundraisers raised more than $13,000. All proceeds go directly back to the shelter, to benefit those who actually made the cards.

To find out how to buy a pack of these cards or to learn more about it, go to supportyourlocalshelter.org. Or you can call 1-866-597-9870.
