Children have wrapped up another fun year in Head Start.
RLT Smith Head Start Center hosted its annual Fun Day Thursday, capping off a year of learning. Head Start helps prepare students for the first grade.
Fun Day mixed some story reading and interactive play with food, and a visit from Geoffrey. He helped them do "the hokey pokey."
"I think what happened at the end of the year, just brings us all together and kind of a wind down type of a period. And just to have a good time and have parents come out and join us," said Mary Alice Wright, administrator of RLT Smith Head Start Center. "Because, you know, our parents here at RLT, they are either working full-time or they're in school. Sometimes they don't have that opportunity to come out."
Wright added it's a good way to show parents they are appreciated.
