Wakulla County, FL - Rural communities in our area are in need of physicians.

Wakulla County is one of the many counties that are reaching out to medical students. The future doctors came on board buses to see the need for medical care at these rural sites.

The first year Med students listened to Wakulla County Health Department personnel about the need for doctors. The experience made many want to practice medicine at these rural locations.

Mary Jane Tucker, FSU Medical Student: "I think working in a rural community is definitely appealing to me. So, maybe it's in the future for me here in Wakulla County."

The FSU College of Medicine Rural Education Opportunity Program sends first-year FSU Med students to get a first-hand look of the need of doctors in the rural sites.
