October 12, 2012 - Dale and Thomas Popcorn is voluntarily recalling bags of its flavored, ready-to-eat Indiana-brand products. The FDA says there is concern about a possible Listeria contamination. The recalled popcorn bags were distributed after August 8th and have "best by" dates of February 4, 2013 to March 12, 2013. Listeria is most dangerous to young children, the elderly, people with weakened immune systems and pregnant women. It can cause a high fever, severe headaches, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea.

Also, a trend that's moving in the right direction, new numbers show 9 out of 10 high school teens did not drink and drive last year. The Centers for Disease Control says there's been a 54 percent decrease in teen drinking and driving since 1991. But researchers are quick to point out that nearly one million teenagers still drink then get behind the wheel every year, putting themselves and others at risk. Car crashes remain the leading cause of death for teens and according to experts, One in five teen drivers involved in a fatal crash in 2010 had alcohol in their system. The CDC says, proven ways to reduce drinking and driving among teens include restricting the legal drinking age to 21 and implementing graduated driver licensing systems that restrict driving at night or with teen passengers.
