A team of researchers conducted MRI's on eighteen healthy people and twenty-three who had post concussion syndrome symptoms. They found communications and information in the brains of the people with post-concussion symptoms were disrupted and the brain had to tap into different areas to compensate for impaired functions.
The team hopes further research can help them identify biological features that can be used to monitor post-concussion syndrome progression and recovery. Findings appear in the journal "Radiology".
