Tallahassee, FL - A local clinic has changed its name to reflect its expanded services to the under and uninsured.
The Neighborhood Health Services at the Lincoln Neighborhood Center in Tallahassee is now the Neighborhood Medical Center.
New patient services include chronic disease management, women's care pediatrics, radiological services and educational programs.
Administrators say it comes at a time when Tallahassee shows rising chronic disease fatality numbers for HIV/AIDS patients and continues to battle high infant mortality.
Executive Director Oretha Jones says, "It's definitely going to make a difference. We're just being able to expand what we've been doing all the time and be able to get more people in the door. So, it will definitely make a difference. It's just absolutely wonderful."
The center serves Tallahassee and surrounding counties.
Tuesday, doctors performed their first mammogram in the center's new mobile unit.
