July 19, 2012 - Moderate drinking may reduce the risk of rheumatoid arthritis. A new study in the British medical journal finds women who regularly consume more than three alcoholic drinks a week for at least 10 years have about half the risk of developing the chronic inflammatory condition. Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease. The study's authors think the alcohol lowers the body's immune response.

Also, be careful using wire brushes to clean your grill. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is warning that more people are ending up in emergency rooms with injuries from swallowing wire bristles. The CDC says injuries range from smalls cut in the neck to more serious conditions, such as intestinal gashes that require emergency surgery. So before you start flipping burgers, be sure to examine the grill surface for stray bristles.
