Women who experience low sexual desire, there is hope.
The answer may be found in the antidepressant drug known as flibanserin.
It's been called the female version of Viagra, a prescription drug used to treat erectile dysfunction in men.
According to researchers, flibanserin, can increase the libido in women who experience low sexual desire.
Doctor John Thorp Junior, a professor of obstetrics and gynecology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill school of Medicine conducted the research.
He and his team combined stats from multiple clinical trials. Two
women in the studies who took flibanserin for hypoactive sexual desire reported improvements in sexual desire.
And that's not all, they also reported satisfactory sexual experience.
The research was presented at the Congress of European Society for Sexual Medicine in France.
