A recent study shows men who exercise may reduce their risk of suffering a stroke.
Researchers say men who regularly take part in moderate to heavy exercise may be less likely to have a stroke than those who get no exercise or only light exercise.
Jogging, tennis or swimming are the preferred activates as opposed to walking, golfing, or bowling.
Men who participated in moderate to heavy intensity activities were 63% less likely to have a stroke than people with no physical activity
Over 3,000 people participated in the study, over the course of 9 years.
However, exercise did not have a protective effect against stroke for women.
Stroke is the leading cause of disability and the third leading cause of death in the United States.
The study was published in the November Issue of the Medical Journal of the American Academy of Neurology .
