Symptoms of ovarian cancer doesn't necessarily mean you have cancer.
A new University of Washington study says only one in 100 women with typical pelvic symptoms like bloating and pain, actually have the disease.
This suggests identifying symptoms won't help doctors detect it earlier.
Ovarian cancer is known as the silent killer because it's often picked up in the later stages.
Experts say their research shows identifying symptoms alone won't improve survival rates.
Instead, they say this highlights a need for discovering better molecular markers and improved imaging techniques for screening.
