Tallahassee, FL -- For one week over sixty of the top seniors in north Florida will come together to go up against the top seniors in south Georgia in the annual "War of the Border" All-Star game.
"I feel like it's an honor and a privilege to be amongst these other guys from different counties," says Tevin Roundtree, a Madison County linebacker.
"There's a bunch of guys that are here that are pretty special players," adds Chiles quarterback Tres Penny. "It's good to get to play with them instead of against them now."
This years team might be the most talented roster Florida has had in it's four year history. Twenty two players were named all-state, including ten first team members.
"The whole season we played them and coming together as one team, there will be a lot of competition I know that. I know everyone out here is good."
One unique facet of this game is that even with the decorated athletes on the roster, no one playing in this game has given a commit for college. The game will provide these seniors one last chance to impress scouts.
"The coaches told us there are going to be a couple coaches out here looking and hopefully they'll come out and see what we can do. Hopefully talk to me and a couple other guys out here."
When asked what Roundtree is looking forward to most about playing in the game, he responded, "Making highlight plays, that's all."
The game will be played this Saturday at Colquitt County's Mack Tharpe Stadium. Madison County head coach Mike Coe will coach the Florida team. Kickoff is at 2:00pm.
