Crawfordville, FL - Wakulla had a 14 point lead at halftime, but the War Eagles went blow-for-blow in three overtimes to defeat Pasco 41-38 on Friday night in Crawfordville.
With the game tied at 21at the end of the fourth quarter, overtime rules state that each team gets one offensive series to try to score.
Pasco scored on its first possession but so did Wakulla. Marshane Godbolt made a nice catch in the endzone to tie it at 28.
In the second overtime, Wakulla had first dibs on offense. Godbolt got the handoff on an end around and scored from 10 yards out to put Wakulla up 35-28. Pasco, again, would tie the game at 35.
In triple overtime, the Pirates had to settle for a field goal on fourth and long. They would take a 38-35 lead.
But the War Eagles found their war hero in Deonte Hutchinson who punched in the game-winning score.
Wakulla will play Miami Norland for the Class 5-A State Finals next Friday in Orlando.

Wakulla didn't beat Pasco, the refs did. The penalty in OT that they called a false start was clearly illegal motion which should've ended the game after Pasco recovered the fumble. I have it on video where one side judge even told Coach McHugh that it was illegal motion. Wakulla was very lucky. They were even more lucky that Pasco played their worst game of the season or it wouldnt have been close at all.
Great Job Wakulla! Just like NFC and Jefferson go to Orlando and show the state what the Big Bend football is all about. Bring it Back! Go War Eagles!
Great job to the football team for that great win. The WHS band has been your biggest fans and hopes to be joining you in Orlando cheering you on like always. Come on Wakulla lets fill that stadium and support a great team on their quest.
