SPRING, Texas – Life Flight was called to Spring High School early Wednesday following a stabbing on campus, a hospital spokesman said.
School officials would not immediately confirm what took place, but a Life Flight spokesman said several people were reportedly injured. A 16-year-old boy was sent to the hospital with a stab wound, Life Flight said. Others were said to be wounded as well.
The Harris County Sheriff's Office later confirmed one person was dead.
The incident was reported shortly after 7 a.m. At 8:15 a.m., Air 11 captured video of two men being taken into custody in handcuffs outside the school.
Unconfirmed reports on Twitter indicated the injuries occurred during a fight in the school's cafeteria.
The school district said it was not neccesary for parents to come to the campus. A school spokesman said the parents of the kids involved in the incident have been notified.
