UPDATED 8.17.2010 3:30pm by Julie Montanaro

Tallahassee Police have now released surveillance pictures from the hold up at Farmers and Merchants Bank. Photos from the Capital City robbery are not yet available.

The surveillance pictures from FMB clearly show the robber in a a green hat and black shirt standing at the teller window.

Police also believe he may have fled the scene in a maroon four door car. It was captured on surveillance video in the parking lot behind the bank.

Tallahassee Police say the hold ups do not appear to be connected because the suspect descriptions are so different, but they are not ruling it out.

TPD Spokeswoman Susan Newhouse says there have been 12 bank robberies in Tallahassee so far this year. That's about the same as last year, she said, when Tallahassee had logged 13 bank robberies by the end of July.

As Tallahassee Police dusted for prints and gathered evidence from the first robbery at Capital City Bank at the intersection of Ocala and Pensacola, reports of another bank robbery came over the police scanners calling police to the Farmers and Merchants Bank located at 4210 West Tennessee Street.

Police say a black male in his 40s flashed a hand gun and ran out the front door.

The suspect was last seen wearing a black shirt with a white shirt underneath, blue jeans with a big buckle and a dark green hat.

Tallahassee police say at this time the robberies do not appear to be connected because the suspect descriptions are so different.

WCTV has requested surveillance photos of both robberies from the Tallahassee Police Department.

We will have them posted as soon as they are available.

Tallahassee, FL - Tallahassee police are on the scene of a bank robbery at Capital City Bank at the intersection of Ocala and Pensacola roads. Police say the robbery happened at around 10 AM on August 17, 2010.

Police say two black men approached the bank. One waited outside and the other went inside to demand money. Police say the two men fled on foot toward Ocala Road, but aren’t sure if they continued on foot from the scene or got into a waiting car.

Authorities say the man who robbed the teller is described as a skinny black man in his twenties about 5’6” with dreadlocks to his waist. Witnesses say he was wearing a white hat, long, purple athletic shorts and black high-tops.

Police describe the second suspect as being 5'6" to 5'8" in height and wearing jeans, a purple stripe button-down shirt, and sunglasses.

TPD then had to respond to a second bank robbery which occurred at Farmers and Merchants Bank on West Tennessee Street

WCTV will try to bring you more information as it becomes available.

If these bank robbers would start getting stopped or caught then these "thugs" would be less likely to rob banks. But since they have not caught one bank robber these "thugs" know its easy to do and get away with.

My answer, just arm the tellers and as the crook exits drop him at the door. A little messy but it will stop the useless pieces of scum.
