A year long drug investigation lands three people behind bars. Quincy police say they found 252 grams of pure cocaine at 627 South Lincoln Street. A street value of more than $50,000. 26-year-old Teriel Young, who officers say is a major distributor, escaped as officers closed in.
"We believe that this young man [Teriel Young] is responsible for 30 to 40 percent of the drugs that are sold here in Quincy," says Gerald McSwain, Police Chief, Quincy Police Department.
Also found in the bust was a handgun stolen from Winter Haven, Florida and four counterfeit one hundred dollar bills.
Under arrest are Young's sister 28-year-old Sheneka Young, 27-year-old Belton Johnson and 19-year-old Bryan Jordan. Sheneka Young is being held on $50,000 bond. She faces life in prison, as does Teriel.
"This young man, he showed total disregard for the peace and tranquility of that neighborhood over there," adds McSwain.
