Tallahassee, FL - All Leon County offices and libraries, with the exception of Parks and
Recreation facilities, will be closed on Monday, Sept. 6, in observance
of Labor Day.

The Apalachee Solid Waste Management Facility, including the Household
Hazardous Waste Center, the Electronics Recycling Center and the
drop-off center located at this facility, will be closed Monday. Waste
Management, Inc., will also be closed, and routes will be moved forward
one day to compensate for the closure. The Rural Waste Service Centers
are normally closed on Mondays and will not be affected by the holiday.
Marpan Recycling will be open.

The LeRoy Collins Leon County Public Library System’s main library
will re-open on Tuesday, Sept. 7, at 10 a.m., and the branches will
re-open Tuesday at 11.

Leon County Animal Control will also be closed; however, in the event
of an emergency, service is available by calling the Leon County
Sheriff’s Office at (850) 922-3300. Leon County Animal Control
encourages residents to only use this service in cases of dangerous or
aggressive dogs, sick or injured domestic animals, animal cruelty or
animal bites. Injured wildlife calls will be forwarded to the St.
Francis Wildlife Association at (850) 627-4151.
