The Civic Center was buzzing this afternoon as United Way kicked off this year's annual community campaign.
This year's campaign goal is 6-point-7 million dollars and organizers say their best shot at reaching that goal is for everyone to donate what they can.
They're calling this year their bounce back year.
"We hope that people are feeling stable, and quite frankly, when you think of the demands that are out there that are created by the financial stress, there is no organization I believe who has the ability to impact more people in a positive way than United Way," says Mark O'Bryant, this year's campaign chair.
Last year the United Way raised more than 6 point 5 million dollars for the community campaign.

Just wondering if some state agencies still have that "under the table" deal where you are TOLD you must contribute something so they can achieve their 100% contribution status??
