The Georgia Department of Labor says the numbers in Valdosta have dropped down a tenth of a percentage point from 8.6 in June to 8.5 in July.
A Recent study by the state show compared to other cities in Georgia more people are employed in Valdosta.
But many still feel like any number is too high.
"I feel like I can get a job its just a lot of people going for it where I am, just missing about by a little bit," said an unemployed Valdosta resident Jeffrey Beauburn.
"We feel like this facility helps people connect with what is available. One of the things we try to do is be as available as possible," said Richard Ramsey of the Department of Labor.
