The roof was completed Friday on a much needed Urgent Care Facility in Franklin County.
Right now, residents travel East to Crawfordville and Tallahassee or West to Apalachicola for medical treatment.
But starting in the early part of 2011, this facility will be able to conduct not only treatments for several minor injuries like cuts and broken bones.
"They can come here, seek the attention, urgent care attention they need and we'll also have a heli-pad here. So if it's something more life threatening they can take the life flight back to Tallahassee or Panama City," says Jay Smith.
Construction is expected to be completed by December and staff say 50% of the jobs from this project were local hires.
The facility will be operated by Weems Hospital and the Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.
