Fort Myers, FL (AP) - An armed robbery at a Fort Myers
McDonald's left a suspect and a police dog dead.
Police say a drive-thru customer called 911 Tuesday evening
after seeing two men holding up the store.
When police arrived, one officer and his K9 partner Roscoe
chased 17-year-old Kamyn Jodeci William Bright, who turned and shot
the dog. The officer continued the chase and fatally shot Bright.
Police say another suspect, 30-year-old Gilberto Amaya, fled in
a car, hitting a K9 named Axe. Officers reportedly chased Amaya to
Lehigh Acres, where he crashed.
Amaya and 21-year-old Leandro Fermin, a McDonald's employee who
reportedly confessed to helping with the robbery, face multiple
felony charges.
Roscoe died on the way to an animal hospital, but Axe was
recovering.

The Fort Myers Police Department shot and killed there own dog. Check the record. They cremated the dog within 45 minutes to destroy the evidence. Kamyn Bright was never found with a gun. Officer Glenn Thompson is a murderer with a badge. The truth will come out. Anonymous hit the nail on the head. The magic words police say "I feared for my life". Case closed.

Sounds to me like the cop killed the kid in retaliation. It says he chased him further. It does not say anything about the kid pointing anything at the cop. Murder investigation?? Why is it that the law says if a dog bites anyone, it must go into quarantine for 7 days, yet this does not apply to law enforcement?? Double standard again.

What are the rules on that? Seems like I remember something about charges (serious charges) against someone that killed a police dog once before. Of course it would have to be the other guy that took the charge, the one that pulled the trigger got the death penalty, and rightfully so. Hey...there's a thought, he actually got what he deserved in a TIMELY manner! Go Law Enforcement! And to the Officer and community that lost a dog, and for the other injured dog, I'm sorry for all your pain. I have Shepherds and I know they love to chase, so at least they were very happy doing what they loved when they were injured/killed. Rotten scum roams the earth, what will we ever do to rid ourselves of them??
