According to MD Anderson Cancer Center only 350 cases of soft tissue sarcoma are diagnosed per year. It's also a cancer that's more common in younger children.

That's why when former Seminole Football player Edgar Ter-Oganessian was diagnosed in 2008, he was unsure what to think and then six months later Boston College football player Mark Herzlich was diagnosed with the same disease.

Both players in the ACC with the same cancer and same fight. They began emailing to talk about their journey with cancer.

Edgar Ter-Oganessian said, "I think we inspire each other and we inspire other people."

Ter-Organessian, or T.O. as he is known by friends, says being football players gave them more drive to beat the cancer.

"I think that was our motivation the competitive nature kinda gives us that drive the challenge that we had to overcome," said T.O.

Now that they are both in remission, they share their stories and realize how similar they are. Both of the football players have worn garnet, and T.O. was on the sideline to cheer for Herzlich when he came on the field.

"I'm here supporting Mark, but of course I'm cheering for the 'Noles!"

Both of the players have lots to cheer about.

At the end of the day they have both already won the ultimate battle.

This story is truly inspirational... Too bad some the FSU Athletic Admins don't share in this side of humanity. I heard he was given a hard time for being on the sidelines. Shame on them, for casting down ANYONE who was there to share in this momentous occasion for both players.

Truly an inspirational story!! Cancer is one thing that will bond an extremely strong friendship. To be able to share with each other is a blessing for both of these two young men. May you both continue to fight with every bit of spirit and strength you have and beat it!!

how nice to have 2 young men todays time to have such a great outlook on life. I'M sure it has not been easy for either one. to be on the oppsite to help each other even at a distence is something. there is alot of people who would just crowl inside thier own world and not think of the other. my hat is off to the both of them. we need more young men like this.
