A Hillsborough County sheriff's deputy was hospitalized early Monday when the patrol car she was riding in slammed into another car at an intersection where traffic lights were out because of Hurricane Jeanne.
Deputy Amy Pinne is expected to be in the hospital for a few days.
The marked patrol car was driven by Deputy Christopher DePolis, The pair was responding to a burglary call when it struck another car that had driven into the darkened intersection.
The patrol car skidded across the road and struck a building.
Depolis and the driver of the other car were treated at the hospital and released.
