President Bush is continuing his inspection of the areas hit by Hurricane Jeanne, going to Martin County Thursday morning on the eve of Thursday night’s debate in Miami.
The president was joined in Stuart Thursday morning by his brother, Gov. Jeb Bush. The White House arranged for a large pack of local and national reporters to capture the scene, which came about 11 hours before the first Bush-Kerry debate.
Bush was going to be in the area for the debate, so he slipped in the tour of hurricane damage. He went to Lake Wales Wednesday, and Democrats say they smell politics in Thursday’s trip.
Bush has campaigned aggressively in Florida since becoming president. When he arrived Wednesday for hurricane tour number four, it was his 29th visit to the state since the 2000 election.
