About 140 children were evacuated Thursday morning from a Catholic school in the Miami area after police searched the building for two suspects who fled after a car chase.
Hialeah police say the suspects opened fire on a driver in another car in Hialeah. It was not immediately known if that driver was injured.
Police chased the suspects' rental truck for several blocks before it crashed. One suspect was caught but the other ran, firing shots at officers before running into the school.
The suspects have been taken into custody and no children or school employees were hurt.
A church secretary said that police told her that a person with a gun was in the preschool.
