Decatur County Man Charged With Ex-Wife's Murder

Her ex-husband is now behind bars, arrested for shooting and killing her. Investigators say 35-year-old Ronnie Vickers pretended to be stranded on his ex-wife's route to work.

When she stopped to pick him up police say he drove her to another location and shot her several times. The Decatur County sheriffs were called to Georgia Highway 309 and 241 early Thursday morning where they found the body of 34-year-old Tyelicia Vickers.

Valnesia Glenn, an aunt, says, "She would help anybody regardless of who it is. She would give them her last. I don't think she deserved what happened to her.”

It was that willingness to help that lead to her death. Deputies say her ex-husband, Ronnie Vickers, lead her to believe he was stranded. When she picked him up he made her get out of the car and shot her repeatedly.

Wiley Griffin, Sheriff of Decatur County, says, "It appears that [way] because of the evidence and if she was run over by the vehicle.

Family members say she will be missed by many.

Tracy Moten, an aunt, says, "For her sisters and brothers, she was the rock of their family. She will be missed."

Larry Vickers, the suspect's brother, says, "My heart just goes out for the family. I know what their feelings are. They're hurt just like we are also, grow up without a mother or a father.

Vickers is facing kidnapping and first degree murder.
