Airing this Thursday, Veterans Day, the HBO documentary film, "Last Letters Home: Voices of American Troops From the Battlefields of Iraq" takes an intimate look at the last words of soldiers and their families' last memories.
Tammy Wise, mother of SPC Robert Wise, said, "I think it has brought me closer to other people who have lost what I have."
The Wise family was one of only 10 chosen for the documentary and HBO says it wasn't an easy task to choose who would be featured.
Pat Conner, HBO representative, said, “They interviewed all these families and picked the ones they thought had great stories."
The film was produced and directed by Academy Award winner Bill Couturie, the master mind behind "Dear America: Letters Home From Vietnam."
