SGMC is fully equipped to treat any kind of heart related problems.
Folks from around south Georgia who suffer from heart problems are often rushed to SGMC's Chest Pain Center for the latest treatments.
After years of work to upgrade the Chest Pain Center, the National Society of Chest Pain Center has given their stamp of approval to SGMC for providing the best level of heart care.
George Hardy, SGMC administrator, said, "From an administration standpoint, this award reflects the amount of hard work that is put forth by the employees of this unit."
Some Chest Pain Center employees say they've seen first hand why this department has received national accreditation.
Michael Kier, patient care tech, said, "Actually my own Dad was treated here, and just seeing it from that standpoint, there's no other place I would want my family to be treated."
SGMC is the first hospital in Georgia to get the award and the first in our viewing area to receive this national prestige.
