Tallahassee, FL - If you've ever had trouble remembering birthdays, this little girl's birthday is one that will be hard to forget.
A local family welcomes their little bundle of joy into the world on the 12th day of the 12th month of 2012.
WCTV spoke to the excited parents about this special day.
Tara Weber and Charles Porter were overjoyed about the arrival of their baby daughter, Teagan Laura Lynn Porter who came into the world weighing seven pounds, seven ounces.
The baby was born on 12-12-12 at 11:12am.
The baby's birth date is not only unique, it has special meaning to both parents.
Tara Weber, Mother, stated, "I wanted her to be born on the 12th because i was born on the 12th and my son was born on the 5th and he was born on the 5th."
According to Dr. Alexander Brickler, an Obstetrician-Gynocologist at North Florida's Women's Care, choosing a baby's birth date is not common, however, can happen in certain situations like Teagan who surpassed her due date.
Dr. Alexander Brickler, OB/GYN North Florida Women's Care, stated, "If you are saying late by way of greater than 39 weeks then it certainly would be within the realm of discussion for the physician and the patient to come together and come up with a date that they want to be delivered."
This day was a family affair and relatives flew in from all over the country to be here on 12-12-12 for the delivery.
Penney Moake, Grandmother, "I flew in from illinois so i could be here for the birth, as i was for the first one and i'm just very excited....now i have a grandaughter."
Excited for the future, Tara and Charles look forward to bringing new baby Teagan home for her first christmas.
And in case you're wondering, little baby Teagan was not the only baby born at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital today.
As of now, 22 newborn babies are projected to be born at TMH that will all share this unique birthday.
