Mr. Food is whipping up another tasty creation to tag along with any main dish. Let’s join the gourmet guru in the kitchen for more.
With Easter coming, we can fancy up our holiday main dishes with a special go-along that'll look like we have a chef hiding in the kitchen, and it all starts with fresh tomatoes that we always leave on the counter and never ripen in the fridge.
We cut 4 large fully ripe tomatoes in half and arrange them cut-side up in a sprayed 9” x 13" baking dish.
Evenly top them with a drained 14-ounce can of quartered artichoke hearts, and pour 1/2 cup bottled Italian dressing over them. Now we combine 1 cup crushed butter crackers and 1/2 stick melted butter. Sprinkle that over the tomatoes along with 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese.
Then into a 350 degree F oven it goes for about half an hour until the breaded tops of the tomatoes are nice and golden, and they're ready! Easy enough?
Now we can hit them with some fresh chopped basil if we'd like, not only for flavor, but it gives it that special look too! And whether we use 'em to fancy up our holiday dinners or make weeknights feel like a holiday, we're going to be the top tomato at our house for sure!
